Being in the Bhava, Vrindavan Kirtan and teachings with Shyamdas Shyamdas travelled to India in 1972 to meet Neem Karoli Baba, and then continued to explore the devotional Bhakti lineages of India under the tutelage of His Holiness Goswami Shri Prathameshji, his guru in the Pushti Marg: the Path of Grace. Shyamdas has lived in Vraj, the sacred lands of Shri Radha Krishna, for most of his life and has written and translated many books on devotional subjects.

“Practicing Eternity:” Yoga, Qigong, and Dance with Nick Atlas Nick Atlas is a RYT/IYF 500-hour certified Yoga instructor with additional training in Qigong, Tantra, Dance/Movement Therapy and Mindfulness meditation. An award-winning visual artist, professional photographer, author, musician, DJ, gardener/naturalist, wilderness guide, Reiki/Qi healer and avid dream-traveler with over ten years experience in the healing arts, he is widely regarded as a teacher’s teacher. To date he’s traveled to over twenty-five countries and forty-nine US states honoring the work of an overwhelming number of gifted healers, swamis and shamans. In 2010 Nick established The School for Mind & Nature, a research center dedicated to the advancement of mind/body arts & sciences as universally-accredited forms of preventative and complimentary medicine, as well as prescriptions for the conscious evolution of humankind in the 21st century. Yogiraj Prem Prakash has been practicing yoga and related arts and sciences since 1979. In 1990, his yoga guru, Baba Hari Dass, gave him permission to teach others. He serves as a Director of the Green Mountain School of Yoga in Middlebury, Vt.
Simon Park began his Yoga journey in 1995 with Shiva Rea in the World Arts and Cultures Department at UCLA. Fast forward to the present where he was chosen by Yoga Journal as ” one of the most influential and gifted, next generation of Yoga teachers”. Dubbed “The Flying Nomad” by Shiva, he draws inspiration from road legends such as Keith Richards and Jack Kerouac.
Jovinna Chan, E-RYT500, a movement artist and a bhakti yogini, has been practicing yoga since she was 14. She is a faculty member at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, where she completed an intensive two-year yoga internship. She teaches yoga, dance, theater, and meditation, and is a presenter for many guest yoga programs, including Introduction to Kripalu Yoga, Deepening Your Practice with Kripalu Yoga, Yoga of Yes, and Sacred, Safe and Wild for Women. Jovinna also instructs teachers in the 200- and 500-hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training programs. Prior to working at Kripalu, she spent 10 years as an actress and dancer in New York City, where she cofounded Fluid Motion Theater & Film, Inc. Along with a variety of yoga mentors, Jovinna’s movement teaching is influenced by Martha Graham, Soul Motion, karate, traditional Korean dance, and Kripalu YogaDance.
Jane Jarecki Lanza, certified in Kripalu yoga, teaches diverse students in all stages and walks of life. Through years of personal practice, teaching, and meeting people worldwide on the yogic path, Jane’s discovered yoga’s power to heal. She shares this knowledge and love. John de Kadt is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist as well as an Ayurvedic Consultant and Living food Nutritionist. He has been in the holistic medicine field for over 20 years and specializes in fatigue, stress, anxiety, menopause, digestive issues, PMS, inflammation, cancer, asthma, allergies, and muscular skeletal issues. He has been a senior practitioner at Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires for 11 years. John is also a professional percussionist and spoken word artist who has played ethnic hand-percussion instruments from around the globe for almost 30 years. John has performed on NBC and PBS, and has played with Steve Gorn, Glen Velez, Subash Chandran, Jai Utal, Robert Bly, Krishna Das, Baba Olatunde, and many others others. Dave Russell leads ecstatic chanting throughout the Northeast and nationally. He is a regular performer at Kripalu and also teaches kirtan workshops there. He first led kirtans for Swami Satchidananda’s Integral Yoga Institute in 1972 before taking a hiatus filled with explorations of many spiritual methods. Dave’s group bundles devotion, humor, Eastern-Western rhythms ( from gentle to rocking out ), and superb musicality to create an energy for all to connect to divine bliss. His first CD ‘Dancing in the Heart’ was released in 2009 and a second CD will be released later this year. Dave sings and plays harmonium and is joined by Holly Hartmann ( vocals ), Charlie Braun ( guitar and vocals), and Deorsha McQuade ( percussion ). Dan is a fun, energetic, passionate, and extremely motivated yoga teacher and student. Drawing from his “rock ‘n roll” background, Dan aims to inspire each and every one of his students to tune in, open up, and ignite the flame within – to live a meaningful life in the flow of yoga. Drawing from his primary teacher, Shiva Rea, he encourages his students to have an authentic, creative, and self-exploratory experience, free from any judgment or attachment, each time they get on the mat. Coby Kozlowski, MA, E-RYT, is a professional life coach, inspirational speaker, yoga and dance teacher, expressive arts therapist, and expert in transformative leadership. She is the founder of Simple Rhythm Coaching LLC, co-founder of Souluna Life Coach Certification training and faculty at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health and Canyon Ranch. Along with her passion for her work, she is a skier, surfer, painter, triathlete, ultimate frisbee player, fire spinner, and lover of adventure. She is the creator of the inspiring yoga DVD: Vinyasa Flow Yoga: Water and book, The Yoga of Living Leadership ™ to be released this year.
Ian Hyman (DJ Hyfi) is a Boston based DJ who has taken his art into the yoga studio to create a deep fusion of sound and movement. Spending most of his time on the road spinning for yoga classes, workshops and events around the nation, he strives to create a fresh experience for people who love yoga and the movement arts. Ian’s DJ mixes are infused with a wide range of soulful electronic music. “Ian’s got his finger on the pulse of what will move the energy of the group in an authentic way to an ecstatic experience!” -Wah!
Bonnie Argo, E-RYT, is a vibrant yoga teacher and powerful bodyworker. Bonnie incorporates her deep understanding of anatomy, injury management, and ancient Eastern approaches to healing into her teaching. She has been teaching movement for over 10 years, and practicing various healing arts modalities for over 5 years. Bonnie completed her 500-hour training with her teacher and inspiration, Shiva Rea. She is a mentor in Shiva’s Prana Flow Teacher Training program and assists for Shiva internationally. Bonnie is the only certified AcroYoga Teacher in the Boston area, having completed both Level 1 and Level 2 teacher training with Jason Nemer & Jenny Sauer-Klein. She has also studied extensively with Ana Forrest. Bonnie co-founded the Radiant Yoga School and offers Yoga Alliance certified Teacher Training programs, Anatomy workshops, and Thai Massage intensives.
Jay Karlinski began his yoga journey over 10 years ago. Since then he has had the great fortune of studying many styles of yoga under countless amazing teachers. Jay received his 200 hour teaching certification from the Bright Spirit Teacher Training program, at Devotion Yoga. Currently, Jay is living his yoga full time, as part of a residential 2 year program at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. At Kripalu, Jay feels incredibly blessed to be able to manage the yoga teacher training programs, serving under teachers with 30 years of experience. In the past year alone, Jay has assisted the 200 hour teacher training program 5 times! As a incredible benefit, Jay is able to take limitless programs and workshops from the various presenters that come to Kripalu, in order to further his own studies. He uses this variety of methodologies to create his own unique, playful style.
